Is instant coffee better or pressed coffee using a french bodum coffee press with standard coffee?
The instant coffee is the type that you add a spoon to hot water. The pressed is where you add regular coffee grounds, no fancy expresso or flavored coffee, and add hot water and press it with the bodum plunger through its filter.
Most serious coffee drinkers would never touch instant coffee, except maybe in a pinch. A french press is the most convenient way to go and still get good coffee.
Bodum 1548-01US Brazil 1-liter 34-Ounce French Press Coffeemaker, Black
The Brazil French Press coffee maker, designed in the early 80's, was our first coffee maker and quickly became a symbol of what Bodum stands for. Attractive and functional design at an affordable price. The Brazil has an ultra-light, heat-resistant borosilicate glass beaker and a polypropylene handle and base, which make the Brazil easy to use and easy to clean. The 3-part stainless steel plunger has a fine mesh filter, which allows for a premium extraction of your coffee’s aromatic oils and subtle flavors. A mesh filter allows this flavor to be delivered direct to your cup and not absorbed by a paper filter. Plus, no paper filter means no waste. The patented safety lid prevents the splashing of liquids while pressing. All parts are dishwasher safe. This 8-cup coffeemaker is (1.0 l, 34oz.) in size and is also available in 3-cup (0.35 l, 12 oz) size model.

French Press (Bodum) coffee maker... coffee to water ratio?
I've got a french press but i misplaced the instruction. What amount of coffee ground do I need per cup of water? Also how long to i let it steep before pressing it down?
i use one tablespoon per 6 oz of water, but some people like 2 tablespoons per 6 oz which is too strong for me. temp of water should not be boiling but at about 200F. If you boil water, let it cool for about a minunte before adding it to the coffee. I let it steep for 2 minutes before pressing the plunger. I pour out all the coffee so that you don't have some coffee that is tsill steeping because it will get extra strong if it stays in there.

2 table spoons of coffee for every 6 ounzes of water put into the french press. So for yours it would be 2tbls/6oz*16oz= 5.33 tablespoons of cofee in each french press canister of 16oz.
